Township Trustee

The Township Trustee serves as the executive responsible for the daily administration of township government. The trustee plays a critical role in managing local services and ensuring the health, safety, and welfare of Jackson Township residents.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Emergency Assistance: Administers township relief to individuals and families in need. This includes temporary aid in areas such as housing and utilities as provided by Indiana law.
  • Fire & Emergency Services: With board approval, the trustee provides fire protection by overseeing the acquisition and maintenance of township fire equipment, facilities, and in providing services to unincorporated areas of the township.
  • Cemetery Maintenance: Responsible for the upkeep and preservation of local cemeteries, ensuring proper care in accordance with Indiana state law.

Township Board Members

The Township Board works alongside the Trustee to guide financial and operational decisions. Members are elected to four-year terms and serve in an oversight capacity.
